|Striver's Cultural District|
The Striver’s Arts & Culture District is the new Central Harlem Arts & Culture District located between West 134th Street and West 136th Street from St. Nicholas Avenue to Malcolm X. Boulevard created to support and serve the special interests and needs of the Upper Manhattan cultural, artistic and educational communities. This initiative is being done in partnership with the Harlem Arts Alliance (HAA), The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce (GHCC), supported by Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) and the Harlem Community Development Corporation (HCDC) to create a targeted residential/retail/commercial Arts, Culture & Educational District in the heart of Community Board 10. Harlem Arts Alliance’s objective, in partnership with The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, is to reserve affordable studios, one and two bedroom apartments that would be earmarked in the main for the above communities. HAA also will collaborate with UMEZ and HCDC to identify affordable commercial, retail, and professional spaces to support the Striver’s Arts, Culture and Educational Zone initiatives.
